On December 9th, a netizen posted a video claiming that a fire broke out in the Alibaba Cloud Database in Yuancheng District, Heyuan, Guangdong, with thick smoke billowing from the scene and people evacuating.
Alibaba Cloud's official Weibo just responded to this, stating that after verification, at 2:43 pm yesterday, during the construction process of the general contracting of the construction park (not yet put into production) in Heyuan, the high-temperature iron slag generated by cutting caused several extruded boards outside the building to catch fire, triggering thick smoke. The fire was extinguished with a water hose within about 10 minutes, and no casualties or property losses were caused.
Alibaba Cloud officially stated that the under construction park is far away from the production area and has not had any impact on cloud services.
