Due to heightened concerns about the labor market and overall economic outlook, US consumer confidence unexpectedly experienced its largest decline in three years in September. The data released by the World Federation of Large Enterprises on Tuesday showed that the US consumer confidence index fell 6.9 points to 98.7 in September, the largest decline since August 2021, which is lower than the estimates of all surveyed economists.
