On May 8th, a spokesperson for German automotive chip manufacturer Infineon stated in an email statement that Infineon plans to lay off mid to three digit jobs at its factory in Regensburg, Germany. Infineon will not force layoffs, and the company will use methods such as floating, partial retirement, and voluntary resignation to reduce the number of employees.
