According to CNN, according to multiple Tesla employees who posted on social media websites on April 30th local time, Musk has decided to lay off the head of the electric vehicle supercharging business unit and most or all of the employees who operate and maintain the system.
Manufacturers such as General Motors and Ford that use Tesla's supercharging network have stated that they will not change their cooperation plans with Tesla as a result.
Musk also posted earlier that day stating that Tesla still plans to develop a network of supercharging stations, but the speed of building some new sites will slow down. He said that in the future, more attention will be paid to expanding existing charging stations. Last month, Musk announced that Tesla would lay off more than 10% of its workforce globally.
