On April 5th local time, Procter&Gamble announced a voluntary recall of Tide Pods, Gain, Ace, and Ariel laundry detergent bags packaged in soft film bags, involving approximately 8.2 million products sold in the United States and approximately 56741 products sold in Canada, with production dates between September 2023 and February 2024.
Procter&Gamble stated that the outer packaging of these products may crack near the zipper track, and ingesting the contents of laundry detergent bags may cause serious harm to children and other vulnerable groups, as well as harm to skin or eyes. Excessive consumption of any household cleaning product containing surfactants can lead to death for individuals with potential health issues. Procter&Gamble will refund and replace the packaging of the affected products.
