On April 6th local time, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida inspected the TSMC Kumamoto factory. The Japanese government plans to provide up to nearly 1.2 trillion yen (approximately 7.9 billion US dollars) in subsidies to the factory. TSMC opened its first factory in Kumamoto Prefecture in February this year, and is expected to build a second factory within the year.
