On February 19th, the latest report from market research firm Canalys pointed out that global smartphone shipments for the entire year of 2023 were 1.14 billion units, a decrease of 4% compared to 2022. Despite facing challenges in the core market, Apple ranked first for the year for the first time with a 20% market share and 229.1 million units shipped. Samsung closely followed suit, with a strategy of maintaining profitability throughout the year, shipping 225.5 million units and a market share of 20%. Xiaomi has consolidated its third position and maintained a 13% market share, with a shipment volume of 146.1 million units. OPPO and Transsion ranked fourth and fifth, with market shares of 9% and 8%, respectively.
