On January 31st, Facebook parent company Meta CEO Zuckerberg stood up at a hearing in the US Senate on child cybersecurity and apologized to the parents of the affected children. On that day, the CEOs of the top five social media companies in the United States attended a Senate hearing on "child cyberbullying", during which multiple children died or suffered serious injuries due to being extorted and bullied on social media. Five CEOs were repeatedly questioned, with one senator shelling Zuckerberg for "blood on his hands.".
