Amazon Japan announced on November 14th that its total investment in Japan in 2022 is expected to exceed 1.2 trillion yen (approximately 8 billion US dollars), equivalent to approximately 20% of the total investment of over 6 trillion yen from 2010 to 2022.
According to the statement, Amazon has approximately 12000 direct employment in Japan in 2022, and has created over 175000 non Amazon jobs nationwide, including job opportunities for local construction and professional service providers, as well as maintenance personnel for logistics centers, cloud computing, and other infrastructure.
Amazon stated that in 2022, the average sales revenue of Japanese merchants exceeded 12 million yen, an increase of about 20% compared to the previous year.
