In the third quarter, Apple's iPhone business overall performed steadily, with revenue of $46.222 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.52%.
Divided by region, Greater China remains the only market with a year-on-year decline in revenue. Its revenue for this quarter was $15.033 billion, lower than analysts' expectations of $15.8 billion, and slightly lower than the same period last year's $15.084 billion.
In fact, since entering the 2024 fiscal year, sales in other countries and regions have gradually returned to the growth track, but Greater China is an exception. But in the past three fiscal quarters, this year-on-year decline has significantly narrowed, and by the fourth fiscal quarter, related revenue has basically remained flat, with the possibility of seeing a turning point in the next quarter.
According to market research firm Counterpoint, in the first three weeks of its debut in China, the sales of the iPhone 16 series increased by 20% compared to 2023 models, while sales of high-end Pro and Pro Max models increased by 44% compared to similar versions last year. However, due to the decline in sales of older models and intensified competition with Huawei, the overall sales of iPhone in China decreased by 2% year-on-year within three weeks.
