According to a document submitted by Starbucks to the US Securities and Exchange Commission on November 20th local time, as of September 29th this year, the company's total number of employees in the US market has dropped to 211000, lower than the previous year's 228000. Among them, 201000 people work in coffee shops, a decrease of 8% from 219000 people in 2023.
This is the second consecutive year that the number of Starbucks employees in the United States has decreased. At the same time, Starbucks added 513 self operated stores in the United States, bringing the total to 10158.
Starbucks stated that the company has increased the average weekly working hours of its employees, which allows them to "earn more and maintain benefits". In addition, Starbucks is also working hard to adjust manpower more accurately according to the needs of each store.
