Amid opposition from various parties, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) issued a final decision on September 13 to impose additional 301 tariffs on China, stubbornly and significantly increasing tariffs on Chinese products. The Office of the United States Trade Representative announced in a statement that starting from September 27th, tariffs on electric vehicles manufactured in China will be raised to 100%, tariffs on solar cells will be raised to 50%, tariffs on electric vehicle batteries, key minerals, steel, aluminum, masks, and shore container cranes will be raised to 25%, and tariffs on other products, including semiconductor chips, will also take effect in the next two years.
