Elon Musk's AI startup xAI may become a key technology partner for Tesla's autonomous driving. According to foreign media, Musk's AI startup xAI is discussing an agreement with Tesla, under which xAI will provide Tesla with its AI technology in exchange for some software revenue. This will help Tesla develop its autonomous driving software Full Self Driving (FSD) and other features, such as in car Siri style voice assistants and Optimus robot software. Although Musk denied the report, stating that "WSJ is nonsense" and stating that there is no need to license any technology from xAI, xAI has poached employees from Tesla, including members of the Autopilot team directly involved in developing autonomous driving features. In the introduction to investors, xAI representatives described the company as a future key technology provider for Tesla's software product suite.
