On Thursday, August 8th Eastern Time, Apple announced a significant update to its App Store policy to comply with the European Union's Digital Markets Act. The core of this change is that Apple will allow app developers in the European Union to promote and sell products within their apps, no longer limited to the Apple App Store. The new policy will take effect this autumn, providing developers with the possibility to promote and sell products outside of their ecosystem.
This policy adjustment was made after the European Commission required Apple to comply with the Digital Markets Act in June.
