Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic reiterated his view that policymakers no longer need to raise interest rates further and that policy is restrictive enough to bring inflation back down to its target level of 2%. "I think our policy rate is restrictive enough to get inflation back down to 2 percent," Bostick said Tuesday at the annual meeting of the American Bankers Association. "I actually don't think we need to raise rates anymore." Bostick also said an unexpected change in the economic outlook could require officials to raise interest rates, but that is not his current expectation.
