On May 20th, the Taiwan Economic Department confirmed that after NVIDIA will establish Asia's first AI research and development center in Taiwan, AMD will also invest NT $5 billion to establish a research and development center in Taiwan. The department revealed that AMD had originally applied for the "Leading Enterprise R&D Deep Cultivation Plan" (Big A+subsidy) at the end of 2023, but the planned funds had already been used up at that time. Therefore, the future will mainly focus on the technology budget allocated in 2025. AMD Chairman and CEO Su Zifeng will attend the 2024 Taipei International Computer Exhibition in Taiwan in June to discuss related matters. Officials stated that during the review of Nvidia's plan to establish a research and development center, they hoped to introduce 10% of foreign high-level personnel; And this time, we hope that AMD can introduce at least 20% of foreign talents and have a considerable number of senior R&D supervisors stationed in Taiwan for a long time.
