German industrial production fell 0.2 per cent month-on-month in August, data showed. Among them, construction production fell 2.4% month-on-month, energy production fell 6.6% month-on-month, machinery and equipment manufacturing fell 2.3% month-on-month, affecting the overall performance of German industrial production in August.
Germany's manufacturing sector, which accounts for about a fifth of its economy, remains Mired in a deep slump. The final HCOB manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) for September came in at 39.6, well below the 50-point line that separates expansion from contraction.
