Beijing Business Daily News (Reporter Bai Yang) On April 18th, Abbott released its first quarter financial report for the 2024 fiscal year, which showed that it achieved revenue of 9.964 billion US dollars during the period, compared to 9.747 billion US dollars in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 2.23%. The net profit for the first quarter of fiscal year 2024 was 1.225 billion US dollars, compared to 1.318 billion US dollars in the same period last year, a decrease of 7.06% year-on-year. The basic earnings per share were $0.706, compared to $0.7579 in the same period last year.
By business division, Abbott's global nutrition business sales increased by 5.1% year-on-year, with an organic growth of 7.7%. The global sales of pediatric nutrition business increased by 9.2% according to the report, with sales in the United States increasing by 12.0%, mainly due to the growth in market share of infant formula business; International market sales increased by 6.4%, mainly due to strong growth in Canada and some countries in the Asia Pacific and Latin America. The global sales of adult nutrition products increased by 1.5% year-on-year, with an organic growth of 5.3%, mainly due to the growth of the Ensure brand.
