On March 15th, it was reported that an employee of Deutsche Bank earned over 14 million euros (15.2 million US dollars) last year, becoming the bank's highest paying employee in at least a decade. The second highest earning banker received less than 10 million euros. CEO Christian Sewing earned 8.7 million euros last year. On the same day that the aforementioned high salaries were disclosed, Deutsche Bank stated that it had reduced last year's bonus pool after its dominant investment banking business performed weakly.
