The Nvidia GTC 2024 conference has entered the countdown, and robots are expected to become a major highlight.
At this year's GTC, there were multiple conferences related to robots, covering topics such as robot manipulation, navigation, perception, computation, simulation/synthesis data generation, and more.
At that time, over 77 Nvidia ecosystem partners and over 25 partner robots will make their debut at GTC. The exhibition hall and demonstration area will showcase the latest robotic arms, robot vision systems, and high-precision 3D scanning systems.
According to NVIDIA, the lineup for this "group" robot related conference is quite luxurious:
Marc Raibert, Executive Director of Boston Dynamics Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, will have a fireside conversation with Dieter Fox, Senior Director of Robotics Research; Heavyweight companies such as Disney, Google DeepMind, Amazon, etc. will participate in special seminars, etc; Jim Fan, a senior research scientist at NVIDIA who is familiar with faces, will also share their findings at the conference.

At this year's NVIDIA GTC keynote speech, Huang Renxun will share "Shaping the Future of AI Breakthroughs and Witnessing the Moments of AI Transformation", but NVIDIA has never disclosed the specific changes.
CITIC Securities previously predicted that Nvidia is likely to empower AI to robots through specialized computing power and algorithms, making robots another major carrier of AI.
"The basic model of robots may be about to emerge and is expected to be released some time next year. From then on, something very surprising will happen in 5 years," Huang Renxun revealed in a recent interview.
When asked about "what you think will change things right now," he said, "there are a few things. One of them doesn't have a real name, but it's some of the work we do in the field of basic robotics. If you can generate text and images, can you also generate motion? The answer may be yes. So, if you can generate actions, you can understand the intention and generate a universal version.". Therefore, humanoid robot technology should be within reach
In addition, Jim Fan, a senior research scientist at Nvidia, has teamed up with Yuke Zhu to form a research group called General Embodied Agent Research at Nvidia.
Fan believes that in the future, every mobile machine will be autonomous, and robots and simulated intelligent agents will be ubiquitous like iPhones. "We are building a foundational intelligent agent: an AI with universal capabilities that can learn how to act proficiently in multiple virtual and real worlds. 2024 will be the year of robotics, game AI, and simulation."
