According to CCTV news, on March 5th local time, Tesla, an American electric vehicle manufacturer, suspended production activities at its super factory located in southeastern Berlin, Germany due to a power outage.
According to media reports, the reason for the power outage may be that climate activists set fire to a utility pole. At present, the employees in the factory have been urgently evacuated. It is reported that in addition to the factory, the nearby cities of Erkner and parts of Berlin have also been affected by power outages.
A recent survey showed that the majority of residents in the area where the factory is located are opposed to Tesla's large-scale expansion plan. Climate activists have also expressed support for the protests by residents. Since the second half of last year, opponents of the expansion plan have carried out various propaganda and mobilization activities in the local area. At present, the expansion plan for Tesla's factory is still pending approval.
