According to media reports, Advent International and Blackstone may consider acquiring Sanofi's consumer health business, with a possible acquisition amount of up to $20 billion.
Other interested acquirers include Bain Capital, CVC Capital Partners, EQT AB, and KKR& Co Company.
Although the consumer health business is not Sanofi's main business, it has also contributed to many sources of income. In 2023, the revenue of this business increased to 5.18 billion euros (approximately 5.664 billion US dollars).
It is worth noting that in recent years, many large pharmaceutical companies have chosen to streamline their operations. Multinational pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, GSK, and Johnson&Johnson have successively divested their consumer health business, focusing on the development and promotion of higher value innovative drugs.
