According to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, on February 5th, vivo and Nokia reached a global patent cross licensing agreement, which covers both parties' standard essential patents in 5G and other cellular communication technologies. After the agreement is signed, both parties will end all pending litigation in all jurisdictions.
Vivo's General Manager of Legal Affairs, Xu Xianwen, stated that based on long-term investment in research and development in the field of 5G communication standards, Vivo has currently applied for over 6000 5G communication standard patents worldwide. The global patent cross licensing agreement reached with Nokia reflects the respect and recognition of each other's cellular standard technology patent value, and will also help build a healthy industry environment for development.
