On Monday local time, medical monitoring technology company Masimo said that after the US authorities approved the import ban, Apple will remove the blood oxygen detection function from Apple watches by updating software to avoid the US import ban caused by patent disputes. For consumers, Apple watches that have already been sold will continue to have blood oxygen detection enabled and will not be affected. However, devices imported into the United States will have this feature removed, and Apple may also make hardware modifications. However, some people also believe that the removal of the blood oxygen detection function will not have any impact on the sales of Apple watches, because this function is at best just "icing on the cake" and cannot truly be used to obtain useful information about health conditions. Therefore, it is definitely not worth the cost of Apple's ban on sales in the United States, and it is not even worth reaching a settlement with Masimo and signing a patent licensing agreement.
