Rio Tinto Group: Escondida Copper Mine's refined copper production in the fourth quarter of 2023 decreased by 5% year-on-year. Rio Tinto Group stated in its production report on January 16 that the year-on-year decrease in mined copper production was due to a 3% decrease in the recovery rate of the beneficiation plant and a decrease in the grade of oxide leaching pads. The refined copper production of the group in the fourth quarter of 2023 decreased by 5% compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, due to a decrease in stacking volume and grade. Rio Tinto is a minority shareholder of the Escondida copper mine in Chile, which is the world's largest copper mine operated by BHP.
