The Delaware Court of Chances in the United States cancelled the trial of a lawsuit between Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and the billionaire Haslam family on January 6, 2024. The trial, originally scheduled for January 8-9, 2024, has been cancelled.
In October 2023, a court document showed that Berkshire Hathaway was accused by the Haslam family of violating the terms of the acquisition of Pilot Travel Centers, the largest trucking station operator in the United States, for over $10 billion. Previously, Berkshire had acquired 80% of Pilot's shares from the Haslam family for nearly $11 billion. But the Haslam family accused Berkshire of modifying accounting rules, significantly lowering the value of the remaining 20% of the shares.
