On December 18th, according to insiders, Blackstone Group acquired a Ritz Carlton hotel on Okinawa Island and is in the process of acquiring another hotel on the island, with a total transaction value of approximately 20 billion yen (130 million US dollars). This transaction was reached at a time when the weak yen was driving a tourism boom in Japan. (Bloomberg)
