Red Star Capital Bureau reported on December 6th that several netizens recently claimed that they had drawn tickets for the "Scream Night" event on iQiyi's page, but did not find corresponding tickets when checking. They reported to customer service that the winning information on another page should be used as the standard, indicating that they did not actually win.
According to the Weibo content released by iQiyi on November 27th, starting from 16:30:00 on November 27th, all users can purchase any screaming physical gift box and receive a "Scream Night" admission ticket (limited to 1 per user). In addition, they can also redeem a "Scream Night" admission ticket by purchasing an iQiyi Star Diamond membership annual card or consuming iQiyi membership points.
A user told Red Star Capital Bureau that she was refunded the points she participated in the lottery, and some users were only refunded a portion of their points but did not redeem their tickets. Another user who participated in the lottery by purchasing a Star Diamond membership annual card for 448 yuan claimed that she neither received the ticket nor refunded the fee after being shown as winning.
On December 6th, Red Star Capital Bureau contacted iQiyi customer service regarding this matter, but the customer service did not explain the reason for not redeeming the tickets. They stated that a specialist would contact them in the future. Afterwards, Red Star Capital Bureau sent an interview email to the email provided by the customer service, but as of press time, there has been no response.
Winning the ticket for 'Scream Night' but unable to redeem the prize
Li Ling (pseudonym) told Red Star Capital Bureau that on November 27th, she used iQiyi membership points to participate in the "Scream Night" ticket draw, spending 271 points per draw and winning 2 tickets in total. However, the lottery page shows that 'the limit is 6 draws and 10 draws have been made'. Later, Li Ling couldn't find the corresponding admission ticket. After consulting customer service, she was told to follow the winning information prompted on the activity page "View Admission Ticket - My Admission Ticket". The page showed that she didn't win the admission ticket.
On the evening of November 27th, all 2710 points consumed by Li Ling's 10 lucky draws were refunded. Later, after complaining to the regulatory authorities, she was compensated for one year as a Star Diamond member, but did not receive a ticket. The lottery page shows that a limited number of 40 tickets can be drawn through member points.

Other users have not been refunded all their points. A iQiyi user from Shanghai said that although the system showed that only 6 draws could be made, she won a total of 7 draws at iQiyi on November 27th and won 4, but no tickets were found. Later, after complaining to iQiyi, the extra points deducted were refunded, while the other six points were not refunded and no tickets were obtained. She said that even if the points are refunded, she cannot participate in the lottery again because the number of times she has participated in the lottery has been exhausted. At present, she has initiated a complaint on the 12315 platform, which has been accepted and is waiting for further processing.

In addition to the points lottery, some users also participate in the lottery by purchasing iQiyi Star Diamond membership annual cards, which are limited to 600 cards. The lottery page shows that "Star Diamond VIP members are virtual products, while Scream Gift Boxes are physical customized products. Neither of them supports refunds after purchase. Please consume rationally and purchase according to your needs".
Liu Ting (pseudonym) spent 448 yuan to purchase a Star Diamond membership annual card. According to her understanding, each Star Diamond membership annual card can be drawn once, and each user can purchase up to 6 Star Diamond membership annual cards. Liu Ting only purchased one Star Diamond annual membership card and won a ticket in the first lottery, but the ticket folder showed no tickets. Later, she complained on the 12315 platform, but iQiyi still replied that the final result displayed in the activity ticket folder would prevail. Afterwards, her complaint became 'successful negotiation and settlement'.
Liu Ting told Red Star Capital that she and iQiyi have not reached a settlement at all, and she has not received the ticket yet. The money for purchasing the Star Diamond membership annual card has not been refunded.
Lawyer: iQiyi suspected of false advertising
It is reported that "Scream Night" is an annual fashion event organized by iQiyi, with nearly a hundred celebrities participating in the entertainment industry every year. This year, iQiyi will hold the "Scream Night" in Macau, China on December 7th. In addition to the points lottery and the purchase of Star Diamond membership annual card lottery, iQiyi also launched a screaming physical gift box with a "must win admission ticket". The gift box is divided into four types: 680 yuan, 1080 yuan, 1480 yuan, and 1980 yuan, corresponding to the third floor, second floor, first floor, and inner seating of the stands, respectively.
Fu Jian, the director of Henan Zejin Law Firm, told Red Star Capital Bureau that if the Civil Code stipulates that the goods or services information released by one party through the Internet and other information networks meets the conditions for an offer, the contract will be formed when the other party selects the goods or services and submits the order successfully, unless otherwise agreed by the parties. The iQiyi lottery page displays a winning ticket but the consumer ultimately cannot get it, which is suspected of false advertising and infringement of consumer rights, "said Fu Jian.
Regarding the issue of refunds, Fu Jian stated that although the lottery page indicates that refunds are not supported after purchasing Star Diamond membership, users who win cannot receive tickets. This is a situation where the contract purpose cannot be achieved due to iQiyi's breach of contract. Users have the right to terminate the contract and request a refund. Fu Jian also mentioned that consumers have the right to demand a refund and compensation of three in accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Rights Protection Law.
Fu Jian suggests that consumers can contact iQiyi customer service to request that they redeem their tickets or provide a reasonable compensation plan based on the winning results displayed on the lottery page, or file a lawsuit with the court to claim compensation for losses or exchange tickets. Consumers can also file complaints with the market supervision and management department. According to the Advertising Law, if iQiyi publishes false advertisements, the market supervision department has the right to order it to stop advertising behavior, eliminate the impact, and impose fines, "said Fu Jian.
