On November 4th, sources familiar with the matter revealed that Apple has proposed investing nearly $10 million to produce more products in Indonesia, seeking to lift the Indonesian government's ban on the sale of iPhone 16.
It is reported that Apple has submitted a proposal to the Indonesian government, planning to cooperate with suppliers to invest in a factory in Bandung to produce accessories and components for Apple gadgets. According to informed sources, the Indonesian government is currently reviewing the proposal and is expected to make a decision soon.
The Indonesian government recently announced a ban on the sale of iPhone 16 in the country, stating that Apple has not fulfilled its investment commitments in Indonesia. Earlier, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry stated that Apple had promised to invest 1.7 trillion Indonesian rupiah (approximately 109 million US dollars) in infrastructure and local procurement in Indonesia, but the actual amount realized was only 1.48 trillion Indonesian rupiah.
