Fearless of a resurgence of Black Monday? More than half of economists expect the Bank of Japan to raise interest rates again in December. According to a media survey, slightly over half of Bank of Japan observers believe that the next time the bank raises interest rates will be in December, and no one expects the authorities to take action at next week's meeting. A survey shows that among 53 economists, about 87% of respondents predict that the Bank of Japan will raise borrowing costs by the end of January, and 53% believe that the adjustment is most likely to be made in December. The survey results indicate that the vast majority of analysts believe that the market turbulence in the days following the Bank of Japan's interest rate hike on July 31 is not enough to panic the authorities into abandoning the path of interest rate normalization.
