Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced that it has decided to adjust the suggested retail price of the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and related peripherals in Japan starting from September 2nd this year, as the PS5 game console in Japan is currently facing a shortage of stock. The price of PS5 has been raised to 79980 yen, approximately 3928 yuan, with a price increase of about 640-740 yuan. Sony Interactive Entertainment stated that this decision was made in consideration of the impact on the company's business in a challenging external environment, including recent global economic fluctuations.
