This year, Dingdong Maicai has added three new direct procurement bases in Cangnan, Wenzhou, Dongying, Shandong, and Zhanjiang, Guangdong, in addition to the two major production areas of Dayang Port and Zhoushan in previous years, shortening the distance of the supply chain and greatly improving the efficiency of the supply chain. Wenzhou Cangnan Direct Mining Base, mainly covering the Wenzhou and South China markets; The origin of Zhanjiang, Guangdong is located in the South China Sea, and the goods are directly supplied to the South China market with short links and guaranteed quality; Located in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, Dongying, Shandong is the main supply terminal for the North China market.
The three major direct harvesting bases each serve the market closest to their geographical distance, shortening transportation distance and ensuring the freshness of horseshoe crabs, "said Huang Liang, a seafood product developer at Dingdong Maicai. Taking the Beijing market as an example, this year's first batch of sea caught horseshoe crabs from Dingdong will run at the fastest speed. After selection, sorting and other processes, they will enter the water truck and arrive in Beijing in more than ten hours. They will be put on shelves for sale in various warehouses in Beijing on August 4th. Due to the long distance, in order to ensure the freshness and vigor of the swimming crabs, Dingdong Maicai transported them through a cold chain throughout the entire process, using a "seawater circulation constant temperature car" to keep the swimming crabs in better condition.
It is worth mentioning that this year's Dingdong Maicai Kaihai Season has seen a nearly 30% increase in the number of categories compared to last year, with the addition of specialty small seafood from Taizhou, Ningbo, Zhoushan and other places, and the development of a "dock cuisine" zone for consumers across the country to try.
