Top 20 US Stock Exchange Transactions: Ford Motor Company Falls 18.4%, with an average loss of 300000 yuan per electric vehicle. Ranked 16th, Ford Motor Company closed down 18.36%, marking its largest single day decline in 15 years and closing at $2.923 billion. The company attributed the significantly lower than expected performance to the surge in warranty costs for old vehicles. Frequent quality issues over the years have pushed up Ford's warranty costs, but the $800 million cost surge in the second quarter surprised investors. Chief Financial Officer John Lawler stated that this is a one-time cost increase due to quality related issues with models produced before 2021.
