Google has announced a stake in New Green Power, a subsidiary of BlackRock Fund, and may purchase up to 300 megawatts of renewable energy from the company for its own operations and provide it to local suppliers to reduce carbon emissions. Currently, Google is investing heavily in clean energy and announced last month a power agreement with NV Energy, a utility company under Berkshire Hathaway, to provide advanced geothermal power to data centers in Nevada, USA.
