Big bear Steve Eisman once again emphasized the need to always hold onto Apple stocks, which is the "center" of the entire artificial intelligence (AI) story.
He stated in the latest interview that Apple remains crucial to the development of artificial intelligence, having previously pointed out that Apple is the "hidden big winner" of the AI boom.
Eisman is the prototype of the movie "Big Short", and as a senior portfolio manager at Neuberger Berman, he is known for short selling subprime mortgages before the global financial crisis broke out.
He admitted that Apple is now "not that secretive" in the field of artificial intelligence.
Due to the release of its latest AI strategy, Apple's stock price has successfully achieved three consecutive increases, with a cumulative increase of about 11% - the largest three-day increase for Apple since August 2020. The market value also surged by $323.9 billion, reaching $3.29 trillion, slightly surpassing Microsoft and returning to the top spot in global market value.
Eisman said, "If artificial intelligence is to expand beyond cloud computing, people will use it on their phones. This means that consumers will upgrade their iPhones and other devices during a product update cycle, and the scale has not yet been determined."
Meanwhile, Eisman also stated that his team is studying other potential "downstream" winners. He said, "I won't tell you what these companies are because I haven't purchased them yet. But that's what we're currently working on."
In fact, not only he, but other Wall Street giants are also looking for the next batch of beneficiaries of the AI boom. For example, JPMorgan Chase pointed out in its latest report that companies that use AI to change their business may become the next group of beneficiaries.
Caroline Ptsch Hennig, head of private banking at JPMorgan Chase in Germany, said that investors only focus on chip manufacturers or cloud computing providers who are pushing for the creation of new artificial intelligence models, but this is "not the right approach". On the contrary, investors should also pay attention to the "users" of new technologies.
Eisman also pointed out that the US economy is more dynamic than ever before in history.
"What I want to say is that during economic downturns, people focus on credit quality and balance sheets, while during economic downturns, they focus on stories." He added, "There are currently two extremely important stories in the market: artificial intelligence and infrastructure. These are the factors driving economic growth."
