Guo Minggui: Currently, the demand for DRAM in Apple Intelligence device side AI models is about 2GB or lower. According to a report released by Guo Minggui, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities, the iPhone 15 equipped with A16 cannot support Apple Intelligence, but the M1 model can support it. This infers that the key to supporting the current Apple Intelligence device side model should be DRAM size, rather than AI computing power (TOPS). The AI computing power of M1 is about 11 TOPS, lower than A16's 17 TOPS. But the DRAM of A16 is 6GB, lower than the 8GB of M1. Therefore, the current demand for DRAM in Apple Intelligence device side AI LLM is approximately 2GB or lower.
