On June 1st, informed officials revealed that Microsoft is approaching a multi million euro deal with the European Association of Cloud Infrastructure Service Providers (CISPE), a cloud computing lobbying group supported by Amazon, to persuade it to withdraw an antitrust complaint. If a transaction is reached, the cloud service provider group will withdraw its request to the European Commission to investigate Microsoft's cloud license agreement, thus ending a potential antitrust standoff. The members of CISPE have not yet accepted the agreement. (Politico)
