A person familiar with the matter said that major shareholders, including BlackRock, are encouraging Anglo American to continue negotiations with BHP Billiton over its £ 38.6 billion mining acquisition plan. Anglo American Resources rejected BHP's third acquisition proposal this Wednesday, and the two companies agreed to extend the negotiation deadline by one week. (Reuters)
