Tesla's "explosive device" has unveiled its veil for the first time.
From November 5th to 10th, the 6th China International Import Expo was held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). As a company that has participated in six consecutive exhibitions, Tesla has made its debut at the Expo this year with the theme of "Ten Years of Entering China, Benchmarking Intelligent Manufacturing", featuring a full range of S3XY models, charging and energy products, and humanoid robots.
On November 5th, a reporter from Shanghai Securities News visited the Tesla booth, and Tesla officials told reporters that one of the biggest highlights of this booth is the "explosive parts" of the Tesla Model Y model, which debuted for the first time.
Tesla unveiled the Model Y new car "Explosive Parts" for the first time at this year's CIIE, showcasing its comprehensive construction
Shanghai Super Factory has become Tesla's global export center

In 2013, Tesla opened its first experience store in China at Qiaofu Fangcao in Beijing. 2023 marks Tesla's tenth anniversary of entering the Chinese market. In the past decade of entering China, Tesla has not only invested in China's huge potential domestic demand market, but also become an important part of China's new energy industry, working together with local Chinese enterprises to support the development of China's automotive industry and economic globalization. "said Tao Lin, Vice President of Tesla, Tesla looks forward to continuing to deeply cultivate China in the continuously open Chinese economy, sharing development opportunities with all parties, and contributing to the construction of a new pattern of domestic and international 'dual circulation'
According to Tesla's statistics, at present, Tesla has about 1.5 million car owners in Chinese Mainland, with more than 425 direct stores, covering 72 cities in Chinese Mainland; There are 250 Tesla owned and authorized B&P centers, covering 155 cities in Chinese Mainland; Tesla's charging network covers 100% of provincial capitals and municipalities across the country.
In 2019, Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory created an industry miracle of "three past years". The Shanghai Super Factory has taken over 2 million complete vehicles offline, becoming Tesla's global export center. At present, Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory has an annual production capacity of over 950000 vehicles, and the total delivery volume in the first 10 months of 2023 has exceeded that of the entire year last year. Localization of over 3.95% of factory components can take one car offline in just over 30 seconds. In order for the owners of the updated Model 3 to pick up their cars as soon as possible, Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory has already reached full capacity and production capacity has once again increased.
At this year's CIIE, Tesla set the theme of the exhibition area as "Ten Years of Entering China, Benchmark of Intelligent Manufacturing", tracing back the growth process of electric vehicles, factories, charging, energy and other sectors in the past ten years. It is also hoped that through this CIIE, Tesla can showcase its product, technological, and innovative capabilities to the world.
From Model Y "explosive parts" to commercial energy storage batteries

In the "Explosive Parts" exhibition area, the first Tesla Model Y "Explosive Parts" exhibited include: body panels, front and rear trunk covers, front and rear doors, front and rear suspension assemblies (including motors), white body, battery pack, Model Y 19 inch twin star wheels, and other structures. The decomposition explosion effect is clear at a glance, and the audience can have zero distance contact with the pre factory Model Y.
In addition, black technology components such as the "brain that commands Tesla electric vehicles" FSD fully autonomous driving ability computer, the "heat pump system dispatcher" eight way valve, and the "Tesla's powerful heart" Tesla powertrain also appeared in the exhibition area.
The FSD (Fully Autonomous Driving Ability Computer) showcased by Tesla can utilize Tesla's self-developed processing chip, similar to the human brain, relying on powerful computing power and algorithms to calculate and perceive the driving environment and make decision-making decisions through the road surface and environmental information observed by the camera, and command the vehicle to drive. In addition to vehicles, FSD (fully autonomous driving ability computer) is also used on Tesla humanoid robots. Tesla humanoid robots are able to classify objects solely based on vision, thanks to the black technology of FSD.
Tesla's charging and energy storage products are also one of the main characters in the exhibition area. In terms of charging, Tesla has been laying out its own charging network in China since 2014. From the first supercharging station located in Jinqiao, Shanghai, to over 11000 supercharging stations and over 1800 supercharging stations nationwide, Chinese Tesla owners have more options for charging.
As for Tesla's energy products such as solar roofs, commercial energy storage batteries (Megapacks), and household energy storage walls (Powerwalls), although they are still unfamiliar to Chinese consumers, they are already one of Tesla's fastest-growing sectors globally. "Tesla sources said that Tesla's recently released third quarter financial report showed that its installed energy storage capacity reached a new high, The deployment of energy storage in the third quarter was 4 gigawatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 90%.
The commercial energy storage battery (Megapack) displayed at the Tesla booth is a multifunctional "giant battery" that can store over 3 megawatt hours of energy per unit, sufficient to meet the electricity demand of 3600 households for one hour. It is of great significance for energy conservation and carbon reduction in public and commercial facilities, and will help improve energy usage patterns, improve energy efficiency, and promote the achievement of global carbon neutrality goals.
The Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory announced its settlement in Lingang in April 2023, marking Tesla's first energy storage super factory project outside of the United States. Tesla introduced that the Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory will produce commercial energy storage batteries (Megapacks), which, like Tesla electric vehicles made in China, will be sold to the global market.
