On September 5th, Qian Jing, Vice President of JinkoSolar, stated in an interview on how to strengthen future cooperation between China and Africa in new energy such as photovoltaics and energy storage, and provide strong support for Africa's energy transformation. As of now, JinkoSolar's photovoltaic modules and energy storage products have been exported to a total of 45 countries in Africa, with a market share of nearly 15%.
Qian Jing stated that Chinese new energy enterprises such as wind and solar energy storage have played an important role in Africa's energy transformation. Over the years, they have assisted African countries in developing renewable energy through technology and product exports, project cooperation, financial support, personnel training, innovative applications, and other aspects. Thanks to the technological solutions of leading Chinese solar energy storage companies, including JinkoSolar, the vast majority of African regions have achieved photovoltaic grid parity, meaning that photovoltaic electricity prices are lower than the cost of local thermal or natural gas power generation. Nowadays, African people not only have access to electricity, but also to electricity, which protects the environment and climate, provides opportunities for economic development and energy transformation at the lowest cost, solves the most basic issues of electricity consumption for people's livelihoods, and promotes the process of industrial greening.
Qian Jing also stated that the economy, independence, high distributability, weak dependence on the power grid, and natural sunshine advantages in most parts of Africa of the photovoltaic storage solution will create more opportunities for China and Africa in the field of photovoltaic clean energy in the future, allowing more African countries to enter the broad track of clean energy transformation. This can not only meet the rapidly growing energy demand in Africa, but also reduce dependence on fossil fuels and improve the stability of energy supply.
As one of the earliest solar energy storage companies to expand overseas, JinkoSolar has been exploring the African market since 2010. After 14 years of layout, Africa has become an important battlefield for JinkoSolar's overseas market. As of now, JinkoSolar's photovoltaic modules and energy storage products have been exported to a total of 45 countries in Africa, with a market share of nearly 15%. The top five markets in Africa are Egypt, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, and South Africa. As a pioneer in the African market, JinkoSolar currently has its own marketing network and distribution system in the vast majority of African countries. It has overseas warehouses in the Namibia Free Trade Zone and the Nigeria Laki Free Trade Zone, which can radiate the demand of the entire African market.
Coping with climate change cannot be separated from energy transformation. No region can be left behind in energy transformation. JinkoSolar is using its accumulated experience and technology to provide strong support for Africa's energy transformation, "said Qian Jing.
