On August 27-28, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee, held a new round of strategic communication with Sullivan, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs of the United States, in Beijing. They had frank, substantive, and constructive discussions. Wang Yi stated that the China US relationship has gone through ups and downs, and sorting out the experiences and lessons learned will help to better open up the future and find the correct way for the two major powers, China and the United States, to coexist.
