According to Bloomberg, Apple will launch the second generation Vision Pro headset device in the fall of 2025 or spring of 2026. This means that the release of the headset device is at least another year away, and there are rumors that the company is working to lower the price of the device to gain wider adoption.
Previously, renowned analyst Guo Mingchi pointed out that Apple has significantly postponed its plan to launch a low-priced Apple Vision headset and instead focused on the second-generation Apple Vision Pro to be released in 2025. Guo Mingchi stated that the launch of the low-priced Apple Vision has been postponed until after 2027.
In terms of hardware configuration, the Vision Pro 2 will be upgraded from the first generation M2 chip to the upcoming M5 chip. The M5 chip may be based on more advanced manufacturing processes, such as TSMC's 2nm process, resulting in significant performance improvements.
In terms of appearance, it is highly likely that the Apple Vision Pro 2 will have a similar appearance to the current generation of Apple Vision Pro. Renowned technology journalist Mark Gurman said, "Apple is brainstorming several ideas for its Vision headset product line, but at least one version of the second-generation Vision Pro - assuming it will be released - looks almost identical to the current design. Major changes are internal, including processor upgrades
In addition, Apple recently launched new Mac extended screen options in VisionOS 2.2, including widescreen and ultra widescreen displays. This new feature expands the application scenarios for Vision Pro 2, showcasing extraordinary capabilities in work, study, and entertainment. Gurman even called Mac Ultra Wide Screen the first truly killer app of Vision Pro.
