On May 7th, Beijing time, the reporter learned that Tesla has launched a new round of layoffs, and employees in multiple departments such as software, services, and engineering have received layoff emails.
On April 15th, Tesla CEO Musk suddenly sent an email to employees stating that the company would lay off more than 10% of its global employees, in order to lower costs and improve production efficiency for Tesla. According to a document released by Tesla in January, Tesla currently has over 140000 employees worldwide, which also means that the layoffs will affect 14000 people.
Afterwards, Tesla China withdrew the offer originally sent to interns on a large scale. Tesla's supercharging business unit has also been laid off, with the head leading a team of about 500 people leaving.
