[Self-developed AI chip Microsoft can "leapfrog" Nvidia?] In early October, the media revealed that Microsoft plans to launch Athena, a chip designed for a large language model of artificial intelligence, at its annual developer conference next month. Athena is expected to be able to compete with Nvidia's flagship H100, a graphics processor developed by Nvidia. Similarly, Zifeng Su, CEO of AMD (an American company that designs and manufactures microprocessors for the computer, communications and consumer electronics industries), also publicly claimed on October 7 that the processing speed of AMD's MI300 graphics card is "as fast as Nvidia's H100." Other AI chip suppliers, including AMD, are also trying to dig out their own "gaps" in Nvidia's walls.
