On April 24th, Yum! Brands China and Huawei jointly held a beta release ceremony for HarmonyOS native applications in Shanghai. At the ceremony, both parties officially announced that KFC Super App had completed the development of the beta version of the HarmonyOS native application, making KFC the first brand in the fast food industry to complete the development of this version.
This Hongmeng Xinghe version of KFC Super App leverages the excellent advantages of Hongmeng's native intelligence and native connectivity, achieving seamless cross application flow and providing users with a smooth and coherent ordering and pick-up experience. No matter where the user is, with just a simple tap, they can enjoy ordering, searching for stores, picking up meals, checking member activities, and convenient payment services. The ability to develop and deploy on multiple platforms not only enhances user experience, but also significantly reduces development costs.
KFC, as the first fast food brand in China to launch a super app, has been actively investing in the digital construction of its membership system since 2016. By integrating brand apps, home delivery apps, and mobile self-service ordering apps, KFC has successfully created a mobile platform that integrates ordering, payment, and reservation functions. As of the end of 2023, its membership has exceeded 440 million.
Last December, KFC began collaborating with HarmonyOS and completed the development of the beta version in just five months, fully demonstrating its strength in digital research and development. At present, other brands under Yum! China, such as Pizzahut, have also started the development of Hongmeng native applications.
This cooperation between Yum! Brands and HarmonyOS not only reflects Yum! Brands China's advanced layout and efficient research and development capabilities in the digital field, but also marks a major breakthrough in the HarmonyOS ecosystem in the Chinese catering industry, which will greatly enhance the user experience on the mobile end.
As of the end of March 2024, over 4000 applications have joined the HarmonyOS ecosystem and achieved comprehensive vertical industry coverage, including convenient living, travel and cultural tourism, financial management, social information, productivity tools, government and people's livelihood, news media, enterprise office, audio-visual entertainment, games and other fields. Applications in various fields are competing to start the development of HarmonyOS native applications, continuously injecting new vitality into the HarmonyOS ecosystem.
