On March 11th, a Beijing Business Daily reporter learned from a person close to Alibaba that Alibaba Group is upgrading its employee incentive policies. In addition to one-time year-end bonuses and equity, Alibaba will add "long-term cash" as one of the incentive methods. The new policy will be implemented from April 1, 2024.
It is understood that there are two main changes in the equity incentives for performance and promotion granted to new employees: first, pure equity incentives will be adjusted to a combination of "equity+long-term cash", and each business will develop its own policies based on its own situation; The second is to accelerate the frequency of equity attribution and distribution, reducing the original annual attribution to quarterly attribution.
