American chemical giant 3M announced on March 8th local time that its board of directors has approved a plan to spin off its healthcare business. After the spin off, the business will be called Solventum Corporation, which is expected to spin off on April 1st and has applied to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, abbreviated as SOLV. 3M will retain 19.9% of Solventum common stock.
