Recently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on social media that the production design of Tesla's new generation Roadster sports car has been completed and will be launched at the end of the year, with shipments expected to begin next year.
Musk said that the new Roadster will be equipped with a larger capacity battery, with a top speed of over 400 kilometers per hour and a maximum range of nearly 1000 kilometers. It is understood that this electric sports car is jointly developed by Tesla and Space Exploration Technology, and will be equipped with 10 small rocket thrusters, accelerating from 100 kilometers in less than 1 second.
According to the news, Musk also stated that the product design of this car has been completed and will be announced by the end of 2024. He also stated that Tesla is committed to delivering this car starting in 2025.
In response to comments from netizens, Musk revealed that this new sports car is "0-60 miles in less than 1 second," which is still the most boring part.
Musk later dug up two tweets he posted in June 2018 about the new generation Roadster sports car, claiming that "SpaceX's option package for the new Tesla sports car will include 10 small rocket boosters seamlessly arranged around the car. These rocket engines greatly increase acceleration, top speed, braking, and turning. Perhaps they will even make Tesla fly..."
Musk also wrote at the time, "The new Tesla sports car will surpass all gasoline powered sports cars in all aspects..."
Musk commented under these two old tweets, "You will love the new Roadster more than your house."
The Tesla Silicon Valley Owners Club account asked, "Can it fly a little bit?" Musk replied with a "blink" emoji.
