From 2014 to 2021/2022, Cambodia's multidimensional poverty index decreased from 0.168 to 0.070, and the poverty rate decreased from 36.7% to 16.6%.

On the 19th, Cambodia News Agency reported that it was included in the recently released 2023 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index report.
The United Nations Development Programme in Cambodia stated that this means that in the past seven and a half years, one out of every five Cambodians has been lifted out of poverty.
