On January 17th, Google India Digital Services and NPCI International, a subsidiary of India National Payment Company, signed a memorandum of understanding to expand the use of UPI payments by travelers outside of India and assist in establishing digital payment systems similar to UPI in other countries. UPI is a unified payment interface developed by the Indian National Payment Company for the Indian instant payment system.
